In a standard situation, an RFID tag is fastened to the tank filler neck with a band, thus automating the fuel filling process for each individual vehicle, once identified by the corresponding transponder antenna that is mounted on the fuel nozzle.

The RFID tag remains however visible, and thus exposed to possible removal and vandalism, which impede the proper fuelling management.
In addition, if the tank filler neck is not equipped with a strong and 100% effective mechanical protection device, the dispensed fuel inside the tank can subsequently be easily removed.
